Davina Rush has been a writer and artist for most of her life, though she didn't begin writing and illustrating coloring books until around 2010 when her daughters led her into this unexpected venture.
Inspired by a class project, Davina had been drawing a picture of Medusa when her daughters walked by, admiring the artwork. Captivated by the stark line-drawing, her daughters asked, "Can we color it when you're done?" They had mistaken the drawing for a coloring page! This sparked the artist's imagination in a direction she had never expected-- educational coloring books.
Since the time they could hold a crayon, Davina has led her daughters to live a life of creativity and, in turn, her children ultimately led her into the life of creativity that she was destined for. And with this happy accident, DavinaRush.com was founded!
Davina's current publications include five educational coloring books:
”The Creatures of Greek Mythology"
"The Creatures of Classic Horror"
"Famous Painters in Art History"
“Alice in Wonderland”
”Haunted Dolls: the coloring book of nightmares"
Davina has crafted a handful of short stories, including her "Hotel California" which was recently published in the #2 best-selling horror anthology, "25 Gates of Hell". She also authored a book of empowerment for women, "When Her Feet Hit The Floor" with a second one in the works.
She is currently working on another coloring book as well as a full length novel.
The complete collection of these titles can be found on Amazon.com.
Davina was born in Northwest Florida, though she has traveled all across the United States, collecting inspiration for her writing and art along the way. She has lived in Florida, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Rhode Island; currently residing in Pennsylvania. During her time in Tennessee, Davina attended College, where she studied art and literature. These two subjects have been a constant passion throughout all her life; from elementary school to college and later continuing her practice and studies independently.
Davina loves being outdoors; camping, hiking, kayaking, traveling, open air markets, adventures of all kinds. She also enjoys oil painting and sculpture. She absolutely adores mountains and thunderstorms, fellow artists and writers, and all things creepy.
